Velma Neal Dies, Services Wednesday Services for Mrs. William (Velma Ruby Ames) Neal, 76, of 103 South Osage, Caldwell, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, in the First United Methodist Church, Caldwell. Mrs. Neal died at 3 a.m. Monday, April 5, in the District Hospital following an extended illness. Schaeffer – Reager Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Neal was born Jan. 11, 1906, in Kansas City, the daughter of Donald Lewis and Harriet Nancy Lewis. Her first husband Max D. Ames preceded her in death. Caldwell Messenger, Caldwell, Sumner Co., KS Monday, April 18, 1942 Mrs. Elmer Ames Dies Suddenly Succumbs To Stroke Saturday Afternoon In Tyler Drug Store Misfortune struck the Elmer Ames family last Saturday afternoon when Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Ames, 59 years of age, was stricken in death in the Tyler Drug Store in Caldwell. Mrs. Ames, who resided five miles southwest of town, had just entered the store presumably to make a purchase, apparently feeling faint, she asked for a chair which Mrs. Tyler promptly provided for her.
