Daniel James McCabe Ramsey Family

Daniel James McCabe Ramsey came from Rockcastle County, Kentucky with cousins and a wagon train of family to Greene County, Missouri. He and his brother were orphaned by the deaths of his parents about 1861-1865. He worked as a farmhand for Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Jasper Watts who lived near Rogersville, Missouri. There he met the sister of Mrs. Watts, Mary Jane Hedgpeth. They were married in 1871 in Greene County, Missouri. They stayed in the area and lived most of the time in Christian County which is just south of Greene County. There they had six children, two of …

Velma Neal Dies, Services Wednesday Services for Mrs. William (Velma Ruby Ames) Neal, 76, of 103 South Osage, Caldwell, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, in the First United Methodist Church, Caldwell. Mrs. Neal died at 3 a.m. Monday, April 5, in the District Hospital following an extended illness. Schaeffer – Reager Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Neal was born Jan. 11, 1906, in Kansas City, the daughter of Donald Lewis and Harriet Nancy Lewis. Her first husband Max D. Ames preceded her in death.
